how can you not like that
I just ate an oatmeal raisin cookie… It was delicious!
Charlie, your claims are slanderous and unqualified. What is your motive? Who paid you to say such a comment? Was it Mrs. Fields? You’ve been in the pockets of Sunmaid since the day I met you.
The problem with the oatmeal raisin cookie is one I see a lot with mega-cap mergers. On the one hand, you’ve got the nimble yet powerful oatmeal cookie. On the other, you’ve got the behemoth juggernaut of dried fruit, the raisin. On the surface, it would seem a merger of the two and the resulting economies of scale would result in synergies unimaginable to the common cookie and fruit (be it dried or not) alike. Alas, as is so often the case with overly-leveraged mega-mergers, these synergies go unrealized and you are left with a hulking, unintegrated and inefficient shell of a half-cookie, half-dried fruit monstrosity. Ultimately, in this time of golden parachutes and out-and-out c-level cronyism, it is the shareholders that pay the price.
Now, on the other hand, take a growth opportunity with enormous horizontal integration potential like that of the macadamia nut and just think of the limitless possibilities that could come out of being pert of a larger cookie. The macadamia nut has certainly positioned itself as THE entity to be acquired in the baked goods industry. Look for one of the white-chips to gobble this one up in the next 6-12 months in an acquisition that is sure to be accretive to the bottom line.
Long live chocolate chip cookies!

I loves me some oatmeal raisin cookies
nobody can hear me! nobody can hear my comments!
Oatmeal raisin cookies are actually dried piles of Raisin Bran vomit.
